saint-malo.jpgRoberto founded Adara in 2003, and along with his partners, has made it into one of Spain’s reference tech VC firms.  Investments over recent years include Openbravo, Cambridge Broadband, Polymita and Eyesquad – all ventures either based in Spain or with linkages to Spain and Adara’s ability to add value in the specific company-building efforts.  Prior to Adara, Roberto had already been dedicated to direct equity investments since 1995 executing and managing a multitude of successful investments in the US, Europe and Latin America.  Between 1988 and 1994, he was CEO of Jumbo, a 30-store retail operation in central Spain.  During this time period the company doubled sales with only a 10% net increase in selling surface.  Between 1985 and 1988, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Co’s Madrid office, focusing on financial services and retailing.  Roberto holds an MBA degree from Harvard University and a BA (with Summa Cum Laude honors) in Computer Science from Dartmouth College.  Hobbies include travel, trekking and golf (former 4-handicap).  He was selected a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum and has been a member of YPO since 1992.
