Julio Alonso (39) is founder and CEO of Weblogs SL, the largest Spanish thematic online media company, which currently publishes over 30 different titles. Weblogs SL was founded in 2004, is based in Madrid, Spain and has over 200 people working for it.

Julio has wide experience in strategic consulting, a field in which he has worked for over 10 years, leading consulting engagements in Europe, Asia and the Americas, as well as a deep understanding of telecom and technology industries.

In 2003 Julio cofounded Intelica Venture Management, a consulting firm, now part of Roland Berger. Previously, from 1997, Julio worked for Diamondcluster International, where he was a Partner and lead multiple international engagements in the telecoms sector. Previously he was a Senior Associate at Value Partner in Milan and Sao Paulo.

Julio holds a Law Degree from the Autonoma University of Madrid and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management.

He is a frequent speaker at technology and online advertising conferences. He is also coauthor of the 2005 book “Blogs, la conversación en internet que está revolucionando medios, empresas y ciudadanos”.
