Maire is a veteran in the high-tech industry with more than 15 years entrepreneurial and investing track record in media- and mobile communications-related technology areas. He is currently Head of Contextual Advertising at Nokia gate5.
In 2000, Maire co-founded gate5 AG, the Berlin-based pioneer in mobile mapping & community service before selling the company to Nokia in late 2006. He led the company through multiple phases of venture financing and in turn grew gate5 to Euro 18 Mio in sales.
Before that, Maire was Managing Director of Babelsberg’s FXcenter, one of Europe’s largest digital media production venture, raising equity from Bertelsmann, Vivendi and Deutsche Telekom ($100m total funding). He also co-initiated CyberCinema, the first European network of electronic cinema venues. He started is career in Japan as innovations manager for Japanese group TOTO k.k.
Maire is further involved in Feature Film production with 20/20 Vision and Pallas Film. Maire has spoken at conferences on entrepreneurship in Europe and internet communities related topics.
A Swiss citizen, he studied business & administration at the University of St. Gallen and Barcelona and attended executive education in NYU and Stanford graduate school of business.
