As a serial entrepreneur and CEO of denkwerk Group, Axel Schmiegelow has been involved in marketing, media, the internet, and start-ups over the last 15 years. He has seen the New Economy come and go (and then come back again). His full service internet agency denkwerk always strives for creative innovation and attracts some of the brightest talents (and startups) in our industry.

In 1999, he helped found the world’s first bookmarking and tagging start-ups, oneview, which he rolled out in 16 countries and 10 languages. Axel is an active Board Member of the company shaping the future of travel commerce, itravel, and a Board Member of the exciting local search and rating company, Qype. As an investor in armedangels, he is supporting an endeavor to make the world a better place. Since September 2006, he has been CEO of the company that will shape the future of TV and internet media: sevenload!

In 2000, Axel completed the EDP Program at MIT (a shareholder in denkwerk). Axel studied law with an emphasis on Business and International Law at Sorbonne (Paris) and the University of Cologne. During his studies he was awarded a scholarship from the elite German Scholarship Foundation (”Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes”).
