alec-col.pngAlec Oxenford is Co-CEO of OLX (www.olx.com, www.mundoanuncio.com, www.edeng.cn), a network of free online classifieds services that he co-founded with Fabrice Grinda in 2006. Today, OLX operates in 50 countries and 12 languages on a global level with offices in New York, Buenos Aires, Beijing & Moscow. He has scaled the organization to 85+ employees and the technology to support high traffic (1.5 million visitors per day & 850,000 new postings per month). In 1999, Oxenford created DeRemate.com, a leading online marketplace and eBay clone for Latin America, which grew to 149 employees, 5 million users, 1.5+ million annual transactions, and gross sales of US$150+ million before selling to an eBay affiliate in 2005. Also, in 2003, he founded DineroMail.com, an internet based payment platform for Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.

In 1993, Oxenford began his career with the Boston Consulting Group in Madrid and Buenos Aires, where he worked as a senior consultant until 1999. There, he focused on an array of industries, including Retail, Banking and e-Commerce, advising top management of leading companies in Europe and Latin America on market strategy and organizational effectiveness. He also led a pro-bono project for an Argentine micro-lending institution based on the Banco Sol model.

Oxenford received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in 1993 from the Universidad Catolica Argentina, and an MBA in 1997 from Harvard Business School with First and Second Year Honors. He is a member of the Buenos Aires Chapter of YPO and a director of the MALBA Museum of Modern Art. Alec was elected YGL Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (2006-2011).
