Andreas Lazar is a Managing Director at Allen & Company, the merchant banking firm, working in the firm’s London office. He is responsible for developing and executing assignments for the firm’s clients across all areas of its practice, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, public financings and private placements, and is primarily focused on the media, interactive, and communications area.
Andreas joined Allen in 1998, initially working in its New York office. From January 2006 through August 2008, Mr. Lazar left the firm to work as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Sirius Satellite Radio, Inc. In September 2008 he re-joined Allen as part of the team establishing the firm’s presence in the United Kingdom and continental Europe.
Mr. Lazar has worked on a wide range of projects, as an investment banker, a corporate strategy officer, and a venture capitalist. His transactional experience includes the merger of Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio, the sale of Chris-Craft Industries to News Corporation, the sales of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds, and the acquisition of Ipsilon Networks by Nokia. He has also completed a number of capital raising transactions, including the pre-IPO financings of TiVo, Loudeye, and PlanetOut. Finally, he has worked on strategic advisory assignments, including assignments for the Coca-Cola Company and DreamWorks Animation.
Mr. Lazar received his BA from Harvard University in 1995.
He lives in London with his wife and son.
